Win the auction on ADESA

Synchronized and extended bidding

Synchronised bids and extended auctions are currently only available for continental European customers. We hope to make this available to UK customers in the future.

Synchronized bids

OPENLANE have integrated their platforms with Alphabet, LeasePlan / CarNext, AlphaOnline, Sixt Leasing, Mobility Concept and Raiffeisen Impulse Leasing. During an auction, your OPENLANE bids are constantly being compared and exchanged with bids from these platforms. In other words, when you, as a continental European customer, have the highest bid on our OPENLANE platform, you have the highest bid on all platforms!

Extended auctions

Right after the first phase of an auction, all vehicles from that auction are auctioned directly again, during the so-called "x-Time" phase. During x-Time, you get the chance to put in your best bid. Per car, you have a number of seconds to update your bid. When a bid is placed during those extra seconds, the clock is reset and starts counting down again. The highest bidder at the end of the x-Time is almost certain of assignment.

TIP: Use “My Bids” to follow up and improve your offer during x-Time and win the auction!

Depending on the seller, x-Time can be different from auction to auction. Below you can find a summary per seller:

Alphabet auctions

Right after the dynamic or target phase of an Alphabet auction, all the vehicles are auctioned again per 2 or 3. When a new bid is placed on one car in “x-Time”, the countdown starts at 18/30 sec again for that car until no more bids are placed.

LeasePlan / CarNext auctions

There are 2 types of x-Time:

1. All cars in x-Time with the same ending times
Right after the dynamic phase of an auction, all the vehicles are auctioned again.  The counter is reset on all cars as soon as a bid is placed on 1 vehicle. This means that the entire auction remains open as long as bids are being placed. Depending on when de bid is placed, the counter is reset to 15 or 30 seconds.

2. All cars in x-Time with different ending times
Right after the dynamic phase of an auction, all the vehicles are auctioned again.  When a new bid is placed on one car in “x-Time”, the countdown starts again for that car until no more bids are placed. Depending on when de bid is placed, the counter is reset to 15 or 30 seconds.

AlphaOnline / Mobility Concept / Sixt Leasing / Raiffeisen Impulse Leasing auctions

Right after the dynamic phase of an auction, all the vehicles are auctioned again one at a time. When a new bid is placed in “x-Time”, countdown starts at 15 to 20 seconds again until no more bids are placed.
