Audi A1

The Audi A1 is a supermini economy car available as a three- and five-door hatchback.

Is it comfortable?
It has to be. The Audi A1 faces stiff competition from the Škoda Fabia and Volkswagen Polo and it won’t be easy to outshine either of them. Fortunately, the Audi A1 feels just like a bigger Audi. There’s an undeniable sense of quality and class up front, giving the Audi A1 a feeling of comfort and refinement that its competitors simply cannot match. It’s not necessarily the same in the rear seats; they’re a touch cramped, but this is the same for any supermini. The 270-litre boot is reasonable. Fold the seats down and you end up with a 920-litre capacity that can only be described as impressive.

How does it drive?
The Audi A1 has a range of relatively small, surprisingly brilliant engines. And this is all it needs: the Audi A1 only weighs about 1,000kg, and the engines love to rev. The CO2 emissions for most of these engines are under the magical 100g/km mark; both this and the low fuel consumption levels make it dirt cheap to run. Doesn’t it sound fun to drive? It’s also fun to park. The Audi A1 is just 1.75m wide, with excellent visibility, precise, well-weighted steering and good grip; these are the ingredients for simple parking and awesome city driving that still allow for a comfortable ride on the open road.

The verdict
You’ll find a used Audi A1 maintains its value pretty well. It has that Audi sense of quality about it, making it highly desirable for the right buyer. Take a look at ADESA for your used Audi A1.
