Audi A3

The Audi A3 is a small family/compact car available as a three- and five-door hatchback, sedan and coupé convertible. It was named the 2014 World Car of the Year.

Is it comfortable?
The Audi A3 was originally available only as a three-door hatchback. This was because Audi wanted the A3 to appear sportier than its main rival, the Volkswagen Golf. However, Audi soon gained more confidence and set their sights higher. It’s now available with a variety of high-performance engines and different bodies. With a stretched wheelbase, you’ll find the Audi A3 has excellent internal space that makes it comfortable for three adult passengers in the rear seat. The gorgeous interiors surpass anything you’ll find in the BMW 1 Series or a Volvo V40, and it boasts plenty of cutting-edge technology. The three-door hatchback has 365 litres of boot space/1,200 litres with the rear seats folded, while the five-door gives you 380 litres/1,220 litres of space, just enough to outshine the BMW 1 Series.

How does it drive?
The Audi A3 is a very lightweight vehicle; with its powerful, turbocharged engines—fitted with five valves per cylinder—it delivers excellent performance with low emissions and low fuel consumption. In the latest models, the engines will even turn off a few cylinders when cruising to help save fuel. The steering is precise and well-weighted, making the hatchbacks brilliant city cars, while all Audi A3 models are enjoyable on the open road. Earlier models received reasonable safety ratings for the driver and passengers, but Audi pulled out all the stops to raise safety to the highest standards in the latest generation.

The verdict
Your used Audi A3 is going to be competing with the BMW 1 Series, the Volvo V40, the Volkswagen Golf and the Ford Focus… As such, it’s probably understandable that it’s not going to beat the competition in every area. However, its beautiful interior wins hands down. Make sure your Audi A3 is in good condition on the inside and you’ll have buyers insisting you take their money.
