Audi Q3

The Audi Q3 is a compact crossover. It’s in direct competition with the Volkswagen Tiguan, Volvo XC60, BMW X1, Nissan Qashqai and even the Toyota RAV4. Does it stand out from the competition?

Is it comfortable?
The Audi range usually looks like it’s one vehicle reappearing in different sizes; a bit like those Russian Matryoshka dolls that stack inside each other. This isn’t exactly a bad thing. But it is satisfying to see the Audi Q3 has made efforts to stand out from the rest of the Audi crowd. It cleverly merges the Audi elegance with a touch of sporty coolness that is part and parcel of today's compact crossovers. Of course, it’s on the inside that the Audi Q3 really hits its stride. There’s plenty of space, more than you would expect, and an interior that leaves at least part of the competition behind. Sports front seats, a cleverly designed dashboard and a wise selection of materials that are going to last a long time and look good doing it. You’ll have enough space in the front of the Audi Q3, but will start wondering what the competition offers if you regularly need to squeeze three adults into the back.

How does it drive?
The Audi Q3 offers you a very controlled ride when cornering and accelerating. The suspension is a bit stiff though, giving a noticeable bump any time the road surface is uneven. There are no disappointments in the entire range of engines, but it’s kind of hard to identify any highlights either. If you were to compare the drive in the Audi Q3 to the competition, it would probably arrive in the middle of the field overall. And while this is actually quite a compliment, it’s not a selling point that makes it easy for you, as a dealer, to sell the vehicle.

The verdict
If it’s nicely priced, a used Audi Q3 will be one of those deals of a lifetime that every car buyer is looking for. Because at the end of the day, although it’s a wonderful vehicle, there’s really nothing else that will set the Audi Q3 apart from all the competition in what is a very competitive field.
